On The Farm
At Lower Wilbury Farm, we lamb around 400 ewes in March. The sheep are brought into the courtyard so you can see the ewes and lambs over the wall whilst you are at the shop, if you are lucky you might get to see one born!!
We have around 10 rare breed breeding sows, they live free range out in the fields and woods and come down to the courtyard to have their piglets!
Our cows are mostly Traditional Herefords, we have around 30 breeding cows, they spend April – December away grazing over near Bedford on a Woodland Trust Site which is rich in wild flowers and different grass lays.
Throughout the summer months we like to take our sheep to local agricultural shows! This year our children have done really well showing their Manx Loaghtand and Norfolk Horn Sheep!
